But you have to act now. Read on . . .

If an unemployed middle-aged certified personal trainer living outside of Omaha Nebraska was able to drive a non-stop stream of clients to his doorstep, and then, using his computer with a ridiculously simple program, amass, not a six-figure, but a whopping seven-figure income, wouldn’t you want to know how he did it?

Stay with me and I’ll share the amazing key to super wealth.  All you need is a certification, an internet connection, and three hours a day.  Before I reveal the secret, stop and think about what life would be like if money were never again an issue.  Imagine if anything you wanted could be yours. Now you're in the right frame of mind to learn how a stroke of luck in Omaha is going to change the future for 117 personal fitness trainers . . . the first 117 to act!

He was called a "loser." If he can do it . . . so can you!

This personal training millionaire in Nebraska wasn’t always wealthy.  His story is even more impressive because he didn't have any natural advantages, he was picked on through puberty, he was rumored to be a virgin until the age of 30, and his nickname in high school was dorkface. If he can succeed at the highest levels as a personal training superstar, if he has men and women of all ages on a 9-year waiting list to become personal training clients, and if he was written about in the Nebraska Times Tattler as the best catch in the state, you can be certain that with his secrets there are no limits to the money you can have, the things you can own, and there are no boundaries preventing you from earning millions and millions of dollars with your fitness knowledge.

If you met this super-performer today, you'd have a hard time believing he was such a loser. In fact, he had been fired from his gas station attendant job, which he says “paid the bills” while he tried to build a clientele, just one week before he started accumulating his new wealth.  He came home and to make matters worse, his very own father made the "L" sign with his thumb and forefinger and grunted in disgust. "How do you think you'll ever earn a living in fitness if you can't even pump gas?" are the words that kept playing in his mind, but that's all in the past.

In a limited distribution interview, available only to movers and shakers, this masterful fitness genius explains how he was sitting on the unemployment line doodling in his journal when he came up with eight incredible words that reshaped his future.  When he realized the power of the eight words, he jumped up and yelled Eureeka, and he went home to earn ten thousand dollars that same day!

Immediately the local news stations ran stories about “the Greatest Personal Trainer Nebraska Has Ever Seen” and the dollars rolled in.  Needless to say, this trainer’s life has never been the same.

Now it's your turn . . . you can . . .

Learn how to post the eight words at a free website to get millions of web surfers paying you for your fitness programs . . . and that’s just your very first day!

Learn how to have insane amounts of money deposited directly into your bank account while you sleep dreaming about fitness riches! You'll be amazed by how quickly this kicks in.

Learn how to get the top television networks to send you nice fat checks as they promote you as the hottest new fitness celebrity, ensuring you remain a fitness millionnaire!

I couldn't believe that after struggling as a personal trainer for 16 years, training clients at 5 AM and staying awake nights writing programs, it was really this simple to make money. With the mind-blowing secret, I now train only 7 clients, I spend 3 hours a day on my computer 3 days a week, and my bank account exceeds 4 million dollars! In the last 3 months I purchased a new home, a 75,000 square foot health club, and a small island in the South Seas. I remember when I could barely afford clothes. Today I am a shopaholic, and loving it! Thanks for making this incredible secret available!

And as a special bonus . . .

if you order the million dollar secret now, you’ll receive four special bonuses teaching you how to turn coal into diamonds, how to turn frogs into princes, how to make a supermodel fall in love with you, and how to get your bathroom sink to spit out the winning Lotto numbers every morning.

Here's just a sampling of how your new life will take shape beginning 15 minutes after you receive the million dollar secret:

  • Be your own boss
  • Understand the four power mantras that make money flow in through your window
  • Live the way you've always wanted to
  • Love every single waking moment - and the sleeping ones as well
  • Stop worrying about money, health, or your relationships
  • Have the wealth of a king, the peace of mind of a yogi
  • Invite only people you like and hot celebrities over to your house
  • Train to your heart's content, and get into the best shape of your life without sweating

And if you're one of the first 27 people to order . . .

I make so much money my parents regret all the time they spent discouraging me from being a personal trainer. Now, I'm doing what I love. I drive to my clients homes in my Free Mercedes S550, I watch TV while my clients workout, and then I snuggle up in my car, listen to Bon Jovi, and think about all the money that's pouring in. Thanks to the special Indonesian sex god report, and Jon Bon Jovi, I have unexpected spontaneous moments of ecstasy . . . in my own backseat! I love my car, I love my job, I love this program. Oh, and did I mention I love my car?

- Lucy Lyar, Manhasset, NY

Oh, wait, is this starting to get a little absurd?  Is this starting to sound just a little too good to be true?  Is this starting to border on being so over-the-top it’s offensive?

You bet it is!

It’s intended to.

You were fooled.

Yes, I did something I don't normally do. I tricked you, but I did so with the best of intentions.  There isn’t any trainer in Omaha or anywhere that has a magic 8-word ad that’s a million dollar secret, there aren't any gas-pumping dorkfaces amassing fitness millions, but there are far too many “gurus” promising you the world if you buy their purported wealth secrets.

If you read the opening of this article with any hint of interest, recognize that personal trainers can easily be victimized, much as your clients might have once fallen for the “quick, easy, magic” offerings on late night TV.

Are There Really Eight Words of Power?

There is, in fact, an eight word formula that can stand as a guide to success for anyone pursuing a personal training career, but the eight words have nothing to do with magic.  They have everything to do with discipline, passion, determination, and responsibility.  If you want to earn a living by guiding people through exercise based programs aimed at positive physical change, live by the eight words.

If you want to earn a demizillion dollars without ever working again, stop here.

This isn’t for you.

Continue only if you honestly believe there's something noble and rewarding about committing to a career in the field of personal training. For those who are prepared to continue . . . here are the eight words:

    • Get clients
    • Train clients
    • Thrill clients
    • Get paid

Are those words overly simplistic?  Not any more simplistic than a football coach living by “pass, run, move the ball, defend, and score.”  They are the rules of the game, and the game is fun, challenging, and rewarding, much as the game of building a strong business as a personal fitness trainer.

Don’t misunderstand.  I’m not going to limit you in the least.  I hope to do quite the opposite, to allow you to recognize real potential.  In this article I will show you how to give yourself a raise instantly, I’ll show you how to eliminate costly cancels and no-shows, and I’ll share some simple strategies that when applied always lead to greater career strength.

I understand the lure of “get rich doing what you love,” as human beings, fitness professionals included, are driven by emotion and impulse.  Advertisers prompt wise and sensible people to buy absurd devices and supplements by tapping into that non-rational impulse, and strong copywriters with little substance behind the hype can use that same impulse stimulation to pull you away from that which you set out to achieve by holding the promise of life being easy over your head.

I’ve learned that “easy” is nowhere near as desirable as fulfilling, and the power we have as fitness professionals is the power to grow financially, emotionally, and professionally by committing to prosper by bettering the lives of others.  If you desire abundance in your life, I suggest you earn it, and find not only the freedom you seek, but also the joy and self-assuredness that comes with going to bed each night knowing you’ve made somebody better.  If you want to succeed at the highest levels, marry your sensibility and your emotion, and merge your dreams with your passion . . . just stay on course.  If you set out to be a personal fitness trainer, then commit to being the best personal trainer you are capable of being, and with adherence to the rules (the eight words) and a commitment to succeed, today’s dreams become tomorrow’s reality.

The Power of the Mind is Real

There have been wonderful books that have helped many find success in their own fields, and the seminal publication of its kind was Napolean Hill’s Think and Grow Rich.  I don’t believe Napolean Hill believed his writings would evolve and mutate to become “quick easy magic” offerings.  Nowhere in his teachings does Hill promote laziness.  He follows along the lines of thinking also delivered by James Allen in As a Man Thinketh and by Earl Nightingale in his renowned teachings.

“As you think, so shall you be.”

That doesn’t mean wish for riches and you’ll wake up to a rainstorm of hundred dollar bills.  It means decide, in your mind first, that you can be successful, and then program your mind to use those traits and talents that make you unique to build whatever future you’d like.

I can tell you first hand how valuable a mindset adjustment can be in turning a floundering career into a brilliant success.  Aside from my own history of running into potentially crippling career obstacles, I have friends, mentors, and associates who have learned to adopt a success mindset, and have followed by building enviable businesses founded in passion.  Having traveled professionally from Trinidad to Moscow, having been in all but four of the United States, and having presented for thousands of career-oriented individuals in the fitness, health, and wellness fields, I have never met a fitness professional who earned millions selling ebooks, mailing magical letters, or manipulating people without delivering genuine substance.  My intention, therefore, is not to hold you back, but to point you in a direction with actual promise.

Get Clients

This is of course the elemental step in building a business, and I find far too many personal trainers seek out “methods” of generating business.  Here’s the simplicity of it.  You have a genuine passion for fitness.  That passion oozes out of you.  You interact with people every day of your life.  Getting clients is as simple as telling people, passionately, what you do for a living and understanding, together with each person you connect with, how your abilities can have a profoundly positive impact on their lives.  You don’t have to do mailings, run ads, or come up with hare-brained promotions.  You simply have to create a discipline of talking to five people a day about what you do.  Five people a day, six days per week, amounts to well over 1,000 people per year.  If you had 1,000 people interested in your services, would it become pretty simple to write your own paycheck?

Train clients

I’m suggesting “training,” at a professional level, goes far beyond “taking people through exercise sessions.”  When an athlete works with a trainer, the athlete desires to find a vehicle for betterment.  You have to be that vehicle to be perceived as being of extreme value to your clients.  Help them get better.  “Training,” therefore, means assessing, strategizing, implementing, directing, re-assessing, and adjusting the course.  With this approach to training, assuming you are competent and have the necessary people skills, the next steps literally take care of themselves.

Thrill clients

Following the line of thought I just identified, with an understanding of the synergistic principles that help human beings lose fat, improve body composition, improve function, and improve health, you’ll wind up going way beyond satisfying clients.  Every successful personal trainer has had the experience where a client says, “thank you, I’m in great shape, this is unbelievable.”  That fact that they call it “unbelievable” says something about their expectation.  Because, in the fitness field, so many offerings fail people, if you simply deliver what you promise, your clients become not only fans, but evangelists spreading the word of your extreme power.

Get Paid

This one sounds so obvious it might easily be ignored.  Don’t ignore it.  Most trainers do.  The idea of compromising your fees, conducting free sessions, complimentary assessments, and discounting rates in exchange for a long-term commitment are not based on business sensibilities.  These flawed systems are extensions of the health club industry’s failure to recognize personal trainers as true professionals.  Not only are legal and medical professionals paid consistent fees, but closer to our field you find golf pros and tennis pros commanding the dollars they believe they’re worth.  Here’s a simply exercise.  Jot down, on a sheet of paper, what you believe one hour of your time, in one-on-one consultation with someone seeking betterment, is worth.  Compare that with the dollar value you actually command for every working hour.  Most trainers find a disturbing gap between what they believe they’re worth and the fees they establish.  If this is your livelihood, and you’re thrilling people every day, then a simple mindset shift aligning your fees with your value is the equivalent of giving yourself a significant raise, and if you begin to come up with a list of reasons why you can’t charge what you’re worth, consider this.  It’s time to make a change, and only you can decide what that change will be.  As you think, so shall you be.

Whether you announce to your clients that your fees are increasing (as professionals in every field do with the cost of living increases), or whether you begin a new consistent fee structure with every new client you take on, or whether you stop discounting sessions bundled as packages and establish a firm per-session fee, you can give yourself a raise in an instant.

If you follow the foibles of personal training convention, you’re plagued by the income-eating challenges of cancellations and no-shows.  Here I’ll use the analogy of a seat at a Broadway show.  If you buy that seat, and you don’t make it to the show, the seat remained empty, thus, you owned it during the presentation.  No refund is due.  Apply that thinking to each booked hour of your time.  If there is a distinctive dollar value to your time, and a client books an hour, they have in essence prevented you from earning money from any other source within that hour.  I’m not asking you to take money from clients that you don’t deserve, but I am asking you to place at least as much respect for the value of your time as you place upon the value of your clients’ time.  That mindset shift will allow you to establish a very firm policy related to cancellations.  For over 15 years, every client I’ve taken on gave me a retainer, one session paid in advance, and if they failed to show or to give 48-hours notice for a cancellation, they forfeit the retainer.  The trainer gets paid.  I’m encouraging you to do the same.

Can you make a million dollars as a personal trainer?  If that’s a genuine goal, then nobody deserves to think otherwise, but approach it not from the standpoint of unfound riches flowing to you, but rather from the perspective of “the more people I help, and the greater the value of the help I deliver, the more prosperity I’ll command.”  There’s a healthy mindset foundation that connects dreams with passion and connect the pursuing of a dream with achievement.

In future articles I might tell you of trainers who generate $150 per session, training 35 sessions per week, allowing for a 2-week vacation.  Income: $250,000 per year.

In future articles I might tell you about trainers who learned to exponentially increase  revenues well beyond $250K by hiring assistants who trained 35 hours per week at $75 with a nice, clean 50-50% split.

In future articles I might tell you about trainers who decided to open their own studios, generate a $100,000 salary, and build enough value in the studios to sell them for five-times-earnings, annual earnings exceeding $200,000 per year.

Nothing is out of your reach, but if you’re a personal trainer at heart, stay true to your passion and work to generate that which you know you deserve.  Riches need not be the end game, but you certainly deserve financial security.  There is little security in a position that requires you to work endless hours with little compensation, but with some simple sensibilities and an attachment to the eight words I shared, you can charge $50 per session, work 30 hours per week, and generate a healthy $75K with free time to spend with your family, a pre-planned two-week vacation, and enjoy the fact that you get to show up for work in a polo and shorts every day.

So, whether you strive to generate $75,000 per year, or ultimately find the million dollar pay day, examine your options carefully.  Don’t let go of dreams, but stay grounded with a clear vision and a focus on that which is really important to you.  If, however, your bathroom sink does start spitting out winning Lotto numbers, while I wouldn’t stop training clients, I would like the name of your plumber.
